Beech Class is a Year 5/6 class (Key Stage 2).
The curriculum that children in Beech class are following in the summer term:
English: We will be studying a story version of Macbeth. The tasks will involve comprehension and language development alongside specific written tasks such as diary entries. A short film, El Caminante, will also be studied and a newspaper article written. Grammar, punctuation, comprehension, guided reading, handwriting, spelling and phonics activities will continue. Revision work and preparation for SATs will also be in the first half of the term.
Maths: All four operations (addition, multiplication, division and subtraction) will continue to be practised and confidence developed in reasoning and solving problems. We will also work on multiplying and dividing fractions; decimals and percentages and converting between different units of measurement. Revision work and preparation for SATs will also be in the first half of the term.

Science: Living things; habitats
Art: Turner inspired watercolours
PSHE: Going for Goals; Changes
RE: Christianity (Eucharist); Buddhism (Enlightenment)
DT: Mechanism (cam toys)
French: ma journée; le sport
ICT: Game generator
Music: YeHa! (and brass lessons for Y5 including a performance day in Halesworth)
PE: athletics; striking and fielding games; sports day
