Spring Term 2024

This term in English we will be working on a book called Shackleton’s Journey. This is a non-fiction book about Earnest Shackleton’s attempt to reach Antarctica and the South Pole. The children will each take on a role as one of Shackleton’s team, writing an application to join the team as well as researching the role their person had on his team. We will also combine some artwork into this topic which will include drawing and making something out of clay.

Our VIPERS book for the first half term is Roald Dahl's Danny the Champion of the World.

As ever, we will continue working on spelling and grammar throughout the term.

PE this term will be Tag Rugby. Every Wednesday, the children will be taking part in forest schools, which is led by Ms Denny.

Our Geography topic for this term is Extreme Weather and Natural Disasters. We will be looking at floods, tornados, earthquakes and similar destructive acts of nature.

We will be looking at Evolution and Inheritance in Science, learning about why we look the way we do and how other forms of life came to be the way they are today.
