Summer Term 1 2024

This term in English we will be working on a short video called 'Lucky Dip'. We will start by exploring the themes of the video and discussing the emotions it is making us feel. We will then write diaries and a short story to illustrate our understanding. Children will explore punctuation and grammar as well as carrying on their guiding reading book 'Sulwe'. We have really enjoyed it so far and are excited to see how it ends.

For P.E this term, we will be exploring athletics and swimming. Our swimming day is and athletics day fall both on a Tuesday this half term. So children will need to remember to bring in both pairs of kit on this day.

Our history topic is looking at how houses and homes have changed throughout history. We will take a walk around Saxmundham to first see how modern houses look, before travelling through time to see what features have stayed and which have been lost to the centuries.

In music, we will be continuing to look at rhythm and how we can create and understand that across a variety of instruments.

In science, we will cover the idea of plants and wildlife, with a focus on how life has adapted to succeed in it's environment.

RE: Christianity.

PSHE: Relationships.

ICT: Presenting Ideas and Animation.

Online Safety: Stranger Danger.

As said before, we will only have one P.E day this half term and it will be Tuesdays.
