Elder

Elder class is a Key Stage 2 class with children from year 6.  The class teacher is Mr Robinson and the teaching assistant is Mrs Eves. Mrs Rowe and Mrs Denny will also be teaching in Elder each week.

Autumn Term 2024

I am very excited about this term as there's a lot planned.

Firstly, the children will enjoy getting to know their buddies. For the first week and a half, they will help them with dinner times. Then, across the term, they will be making a number of visits to help the Reception children in other areas of their school life.

We will start by looking at a selection of biographies and autobiographies in English, learning how we can write our own. Our VIPERS book is called Sky Chasers, an exciting adventure book by Emma Carroll. As ever, we will continue working on spelling and grammar throughout the term.

We will begin maths by refreshing areas we covered in year 5 before moving on to new work. We will continue to ensure that areas such as times tables are kept to a high standard.

Although the weather will start to cool, we will enjoy being outside for a number of PE lessons. Fitness as well as net/wall games will be worked on during the first half term.

Our PE days will be Monday and Thursday.  Please ensure that a full PE kit is in school on both days, which is suitable for both inside and outside lessons.

Please make sure that your child has a water bottle in school every day.
