Admission to Our School
Starting school for the first time:
Any children who are starting school for the very first time (children who will be 5 on their next birthday and are not yet in school) will be allocated a place by the Local Authority.. Parents should be notified by their current pre-school setting the November prior to entry that they need to make an application for a full-time school place for their child and give a closing date. Applications should be made online but there is a paper CAF1 Form available for those who cannot access the internet to make an application. The School Office can provide this if required.
Further information about what parents/carers need to make an application or help them make their decision is available on the Suffolk County Council website at www.suffolk.gov.uk/admissions, including information about the School Travel Policy and some School Travel Scenarios.
'In Year' Transitions (Yrs 1-6) :
Academies manage their own in year admissions. Any parent wishing to make an application for a place at Saxmundham Primary School for years 1-6 should telephone the School Office in the first instance to request and ADM1 Form. You can download this at the bottom of this page or one can be emailed to you.
Please note that we can do 'In Year' applications for any new Reception class children who apply to the school after the 1st September.
All in-year applications must be made to the school and parents will be notified of the outcome directly from the school.
We welcome visits to the school for prospective new parents and children.
Please contact Mrs Brown or Miss Bridgman via the School Office if you have any questions and/to arrange an appointment to meet with the Headteacher.
Our current PAN (Pupil Admission Number) is 45 per year group.
