Poplar class is a Key Stage 2 class with children from year 4 and 5.  The class teacher is Mr Robinson and the teaching assistant is Mrs Eves. Mrs Rowe will be teaching RE in Poplar Class.

Autumn Term 2025 - second half.

After a wonderful first half term, I am looking forward to the children continuing to show me how great they are.

We will be working on story openers in English before moving on to other areas. The children have loved reading our VIPERS book, The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe and we will get through to the end before Christmas. The children ha.ve come up with lots of different predictions about what could happen in the story. We will be working hard on spelling and grammar throughout the term. We will continue working through the maths curriculum, building on the excellent work the children have produced so far.

Our PE days are Monday and Wednesday.  Please ensure that a full PE kit is in school on both days with suitable clothing for both inside and outside lessons.

We will switch to geography after for this half term, looking at rivers. In science, we will be looking at States of Matter, exploring liquids, solids and gases.

Year 4 will continue having music lessons with Mr Robinson, while Year 5 will have Mr Courtney for brass lessons.

Please make sure that your child has a water bottle in school every day.
